The 300 Club is united in mourning the passing of our friend and colleague, David Villa. David was a warm and generous man – every member of the club loved being in his presence. His wisdom, imparted with a modest humour, was a source of inspiration and learning for every member of the Club.

Chris Ailman, Chair of the North American Chapter of the 300 Club and CIO of CalSTRS reflects:

“David was a great friend and eager participant in the Club. He was part of the foundation of the North American Chapter having inspired multiple articles and deep discussions.  We will all miss him as a colleague, top global CIO, a true leader in our field, but most of all as a good friend. We will miss David, we share our grief with his colleagues at the State of Wisconsin Investment Board and extend our sincere love and sympathy to his family.”
